babyxsosa
Jasia Abrams
From 032c’s article about Babyxsosa, where we see a sharp insight from the singer, rapper, and producer, who first gained attention on SoundCloud with her praised 2019 single "Everywhereigo." Since then, Babyxsosa has split her time between New York and Los Angeles, dropping dozens of singles and three EPs. Seamlessly navigating different scenes, she's modeled for Heavn by Marc Jacobs and Anonymous Club/Hood By Air, collaborated with Anonymous Club on an archival Hood By Air showcase for a G.L.I.T.S. fundraiser, and worked alongside performance artist and musician Kembra Pfahler. With shoutouts from Playboi Carti and a song even dedicated to her voice, Babyxsosa has solidified her place as a true "digital princess."
Her debut album, BABYONCE that just release in 2024, shes stated that she’s evolved beyond the "old Babyxsosa sound," way past bass driven beats and minimalistic sound. You can hear it in her viral song "Everywhereigo," where her sound around that time period reflected onto every project she released until BLING BLING, where electroclash, gabber, and discordant techno is prominent. Breaking into electronica.
What truly sets her apart from the rest of the other artists in her lane is her calm demeanor and her humble personality. With her peers often characterized by clout-chasing, flamboyance, and constant displays of excess, she resonates herself like her songs; as airy, chic, and sophisticated — with just the right touch of irreverence — all while pairing it with high-fashion heels.

probably the song I listen to the most. there are genuinely days I listen to this on repeat the whole day. The sound of this beat sampling blvd nights by team sleep alone has always hit me emotionally. When you zone out and forget the lyrics, lone does also have vocals that just sonically also sound good. The mixing on his voice gives a rougher punk tone but at the same time you really feel his presence.
what the lyrics talk about here feels so personal and vulnerable which is conflicting to what & how an atlanta trap rapper would like to rap about/portray himself as. assuming he punched his vocals in, it makes me wonder what was going on in his day that made him express himself that way. the album behind this was so good, Ill defend it till I die.
I hope I get to work with Lone one day
